I don’t think I’ve mentioned this online before, but I should: I love Kate Bush.

And yes, I’m well aware she bungles things somewhat. But come on, it’s six freaking minutes dedicated to the number Pi; who the hell cares if her math’s off a bit.

So, love ya’, Kate!

Amazed two months can pass before a note from me appears? Trust me, that’s nothing. I hit a lull in real world employment activities, which is the reason for my resurfacing. The lull ends later this week, but I’ll try and retain a blogging edge to my life. It’s not like it’s all that hard to do.

By the way, for those who actually care about these things, I did get out and see Serenity. I ended up liking it more than I expected. And I’ll get around to writing up a review here, one of these days. It won’t be a standard movie review of sorts, but cover it and all SF films in relationship to me. This is the Kaf-centric blog, afterall. Don’t expect it to be riveting.

Finally, if you’re a WordPress.com user, I’ve gone and set up something on the side, for those wanting a little help from their friends:

wordpressdotcom on Yahoo! Groups

I’ve seen various requests for a support forum since wp.com went live, so what the hell. Once a “real” support forum pops up hereabouts I’ll probably take it down, but for now hopefully it can provide a small amount of community and support for those bothering to look for it.

Movie-going notes:

* I will be seeing the film Serenity.

* Not a big fan of Firefly—in fact I disliked the show a bit when I caught it on Fox through its original run, but I had a small change of opinion towards it during its replay on the SciFi Channel.

* So why see the film? It’s Science Fiction, baby. And Josh Whedon’s dialog should make it worth the trip. Hey, it’s the main reason I watched Buffy.

* I will not be seeing Serenity tonight (Friday night). A possibility is Sunday, though likely I’ll take it in some time later in the week. Wednesday is the likely candidate. Don’t spoil the plot for me.

* I will not be yelling SERENITY NOW at the screen whenever a tense moment occurs in the film. Promise.

Get Out of Jail Free

That would be Don’t Let Start by They Might Be Giants.

Don’t bother asking why it’s the best song ever. If I knew the why of these sorts of things I’d be off composing popular, too much money to stuff down your trousers sort of music instead of what I actually find myself doing, which is tapping out online nonsense to try and hold off the emptiness and despair.

Anyway, sixth on the best song ever list: Prevenge, ibid. In addition, They’ll Need a Crane is somewhere in the double-digits.

Can you tell I’m listening to my TMBG collection while sitting at the computer tonight?
